Wii Headset

Tired of the Wii Speak? Well most people are so soon to be released is the Wii headset. The strange thing is that it was announced at this year's E3 and no one mentioned it. The first two games it will be compatible with are Conduit 2 and Call of Duty:Black Ops. No news yet on if it will be packaged with either of these games or if the headset will work with previous Wii Speak games such as Animal Crossing:City Folk. The bad news is that the headset is connected to wire that plugs into the USB ports on the back of the Wii.

Nintendo Press Conference & Wii Remtoe Plus

Today was Nintendo's Japan press conference. Most things that were announced what we heard about at the E3. But they did go into more detail about the 3DS. Such as release date for Japan, release games, and the launch colors. The Japan price for the system is 25,000 yen which is about 300 U.S. dollars making it the most expensive system for Nintendo yet. Sadly, for people who wanted the system in red it will not be one of the launch colors, those will be black and blue. In a way the 3DS will be similar to the iPhone or iPod touch, because you can hit the home button at the bottom of the touchscreen and exit the game without turning off completely. It will have its own version of a virtual console and DSi ware. Some virtual console games will be from previous game boy systems and according to Nintendo Power even some NES and SNES games. Along with this the 3DS will also have Mii's to use in games like in Nintendogs + Cats and Pilot Wings Resort. But instead of creating the Mii yourself your use the camera on the system to take a picture of yourself or another person, and in a few seconds you'll have a very similar Mii face. No announcement yet on the actual release date but it will be here no later than March 2011. As for release games they include Kid Icarus Uprising, Mario Kart 3DS, Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D: The Naked Sample, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Pilotwings Resorts, Paper Mario 3DS, Resident Evil Revelation, Resident Evil: The Mercenaries, Star Fox 64 3D and Animal Crossing 3DS. So with all these great titles if your already spending $300 on the system whats another $100 on games, no news yet on what the starting cost will be for games though.

In other news there's going to be a new type of Wii Remote coming out later this year called the Wii Remote Plus. By the name your can probably already tell what it is, the power of the Wii MotionPlus in the Wiimote. Hopefully this won't kill the batteries as quick. Anyways this will be released with the game FlingSmash for $50.
However you can also just buy the remote minus the game. It will be released in White, Black, Pink and Blue but if you buy the FlingSmash package you'll get it in Black.

The 3DS in more Detail

Wow,I meant to post thins a long time ago but now I finally got to it. First off here are some minor/major details. There is a "Charging Cradle" which will allow you to recharge the system wireless, cartage size is about the same as a regular DS cartage. Game controls include Touch screen, microphone, A/B/X/Y buttons, + Control Pad, L/R buttons, Start and Select buttons, "Slide Pad" that allows 360-degree analog input, one inner camera, two outer cameras (for 3D pictures), motion sensor and a gyro sensor. It is 5.3 inches wide, 2.9 inches long, 0.8 inches tall, weighs 8 ounces, and the final design is to be determined. The top screen is 3.53inches (larger that touch screen) with 800x240 pixel resolution (400 pixels are allocated for each eye to enable 3D viewing) this means that people watching from an angel won't see the 3D effects. The touch screen is 3.02-inch LCD with 320x240 pixel resolution. Launch colors are planned to be Black, Red and Blue and the game card will be 2 GB maximum. Nintendo 3DS hardware is designed so that even when not in use, it can automatically exchange data with other Nintendo 3DS systems or receive data via the Internet while in sleep mode. 3D slider to change the amount of 3D to the players preference, a home button to call system function, wireless switch (can be turned on and off during gameplay. Finally there will be parental controls (similar to the Wii) and at telescoping stylus that is 4 inches.

And also even though only a few game I mentioned before the E3 were mentioned at the show I CAN confirm one of them that may still be considered a rumor... there WILL be a Pikmin 3 for the Wii.

E3 Day 2

Today was the big day for all Nintendo fans because at 9 AM (PST) Nintendo, once again changed gaming. I'm going to only mention the Big name games berifly to to see them in more detail check out e3.nintendo.com. I'll start out with the new Zelda which is now The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sowrd. Now the graphics are diffrent from what you would expect from the concept art a year ago. To me they look like a cross between Twlight Princess and the Wind Waker. Very cool looking but a little cartoonish. We still don't know that much from the trailer and demo about a storyline but it's on its way and will be here sometime in 2011. Next up is the 3DS. The version that was shown is diffrent from the "leaked" picture I had yesterday. The top screen is bigger than the touch screen and there is a "Tilt" controller above the D-pad. You can change the 3D setting to how you want them with a switch on the side and even take 3D photos with the outside camera lenses. The graphics look a little less then the Gamecube but overall they look great. There will be many launch titles such as Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, Starfox 64 DS, Super Street Fighter IV, Kid Icarus: Uprising, Nintendogs + cats and many more. Heading back over to the Wii now there is a new Mario sports game called Mario's Sports Miz. These include basketball, volleyball, hockey, and dogeball. And since I only wanted to mention the ones I think are the biggest titles the final one I'll mention is Donkey Kong Country Returns. Now so far this looks really good. Like New Super Mario Bros. Wii it's a side scroller and by the trailer you can use Diddy knog to help you out and probaly other members of the DK Crew. Now these arent the only games just the ones I felt like mentioning there are many others like Kirby's Epic Yarn, Wii Party, Mario VS Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem, Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs and many others, supprisingly Pokemon Black & White the Vitality Sensor and Pikmin 3 were not mentioned. Once again for more info check out e3.nintendo.com.

UPDATE: Just announced at 9:00 EST The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the 3DS!

E3 day 1

With Nintendo's conference just hours away many rumors and "confirmed" (more rumors) are spreading like crazy. So we'll find out tomorrow with whats true and whats not.

The Rumors:

New Wii to me announced codenamed Wii Hi-Fi to have similar graphics to Xbox 360 and PS3. Personally I think this is a lie due to one new system being announced (3DS)

A Animal Crossing for the 3DS. No one knows about any 3DS launch games so it could be true.

Retro Studios is working on a new Donkey Kong game.

Supposedly "leaked" photo of 3DS prototype (pictured below).

What we will see at E3

Well tomorrow's the start of the three biggest days of the summer. In other words the E3. Under this is what Nintendo will defiantly talk about in there two hour conference which will start at 9:00 AM PST (12:00 PM EST) ad what I think each game might be like. You can watch Nintendo's conference live at www.e3.nintendo.com

Golden Sun DS (DS)- Well I can't really tell much from never playing a Golden Sun game and the short and in descriptive trailer we saw last year.

Metroid Other M (Wii)- So far we all know alot about this I haven't done any posts on it but I'm sure you've all read about it.

Nintendo 3DS games- Awhile back ago i did a post on this new system we'll probably see a version different from the final release of it and some launch games (probably no side scrollers)

Pikmin 3 (Wii)- I can't tell you much I've never tried a Pikmin game because to me they have, well always looked stupid even though I hear they are great games.

Pokémon Black and White (DS)- From the 15 second gameplay video and only 5 Pokemon that have been named it looks like this Pokemon game will change the whole series as we know it.

The Legend of Zelda Wii (Wii)- Not much is know about this except that it will use the Wii MotionPlus and will be a new type of Zelda concept.

Wii Party (Wii)- I'm guessing just a whole bunch of party type games or maybe something like Mario Party but without Mario characters. I was always wondering when we would see a Mario Party 9 I always assumed that the series would go up to 10 but technically it has with Mario Party for the e-Reader and Mario Party DS.

Wii Vitality Sensor games (Wii)- First off I'm wondering how many games will support this thing. Think about it so far there haven't been much with other Wii accessorizes like the Balance board and even the Motionlus. So far not many game use any accessories the Balance Board only has fitness, skateboarding, snowboarding and skiing games. There's only like 7 games that use the MotionPlus and only around 5 that use the WiiSpeak. I think that all Wi-Fi games should wok with the WiiSpeak after all most Wii online interactions are not rated the the ESRB so no one can break rules or anything, sure some people might be offended by other peoples language that doesn't happen as often as you think.

Professor Layton and the Unwound Future (DS)- Well once again I cant say much because I've never played a game in the series but to me this series actually looks good I'm sure there will be alot of new types of puzzles to solve the future.

What I would like to see:
A 1080 for the Wii that can use the balance board and race people on Wi-Fi.

An F-Zero for the Wii that can have modes like Death Race and regular races on Wi-Fi.

A new Starfox particularly on the Wii that is like Starfox: Assault it's been a long time since Starfox: Command ans with the different endings no one knows what will become of the series but it's time for a new one even Shigeru Miyamoto want one on the Wii.
